# Review a lineup and depth chart before match day
More time on the field. Less time in the office.

Audience: coaches
Status: practical planning guide with optional AI consistency checks. Not automatic selection.
Your existing team system remains the official roster and availability source.

## Outcome and inputs
Outcome: a versioned lineup draft, role-cover chart and unresolved coach questions.
Inputs: match reference, confirmed playing format, starting slots, dated availability snapshot,
coach-selected starters and approved cover, supplied rotation intentions and event requirements.

## Scope
- Match reference:
- Format / number of starting slots (including goalkeeper):
- Availability snapshot/date:
- Coach selection version:
- Event requirement references or unknowns:
- Reviewing coach:
Use anonymous player references. Keep the real lookup private.

## Starting slots
| Slot/role | Coach-selected player ref | Availability confirmed? | Coach review or question |
|---|---|---|---|
| | | | |

## Role cover (not a ranking)
| Role | Coach-approved alternative ref | Shared cover for another role? | Dependency/question |
|---|---|---|---|
| | | | |
A reference may appear as cover for multiple roles, but cannot fill two simultaneous slots.

## Five-step review
1. Separate availability, selection and eligibility. Unknown responses stay unknown.
A squad entry does not prove eligibility. Resolve through appropriate team/event processes.
2. Check one unique starter per simultaneous role and a slot count matching the confirmed format.
Leave unresolved slots open; AI must not choose replacements.
3. Record only coach-approved alternatives. Flag shared cover dependencies without treating
every repeated alternative as a duplicate starter or creating public player rankings.
4. If supplied, check proposed transitions for duplicate players, empty roles and unavailable
players. Do not invent substitution rules, timings, playing-time promises or rotation policies.
5. Coach resolves questions and approves a version. Recheck after changes. Keep internal cover
notes separate from any player-facing board. Sending/submission is a separate authorized action.

## Transition log (only if supplied by coach)
| Coach-supplied timing/trigger | Before version | Proposed change | After roles checked? | Coach approval |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | |

## Synthetic exercise
Coach-supplied illustrative format: 7v7, seven starting slots including goalkeeper.
DEMO-04 is entered in two starting slots. DEMO-07 has unknown availability.
Flag both issues. Do not pick replacements or infer eligibility.
DEMO-08 covers two roles: note the shared dependency, not a duplicate starter.
No actual selection decision is made by this exercise.

## Optional sanitized AI prompt
Review only this anonymous coach-supplied lineup for consistency.
Check unique simultaneous starters, slot count against the supplied format, availability unknowns,
and role-cover dependencies. For supplied transitions, check before/after assignments.
Do not rank players, select replacements, infer eligibility, invent rules or promise minutes.
Do not change a roster, submit a lineup, send messages or publish selections.
Return: source/version | issue or unknown | affected slot | question for coach.

## Decision and privacy checkpoint
- Coach decision: approved draft / hold
- Approved version/date:
- Unresolved questions:
- Recheck after availability changes:
- Player-facing version reviewed separately:
Keep children's names, medical details, personal absence explanations and selection judgments
out of unapproved tools. Anonymous consistency checks do not transfer selection authority to AI.
